Created in 1962 by Edgar Hetteen, Arctic Cat has revolutionized the game of snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, and winter gear for the past 60 years. Although the company’s name has changed, our community continues to be tight-knight, passionate, and one that we are incredibly proud to be a part of.
In celebration of 60 years of unparalleled equipment and technology, Arctic Cat is releasing a 2022 lineup as you have never seen before.
Most notably, the 2022 lineup includes a new Thundercat with Electronic Power Steering, a pair of new midsize Blast models, and the industry’s first midsize touring sled, the Blast XR Touring 4000.
Like a fine wine, Arctic Cat continues to get better with age. Below, we highlight the gnarliest snowmobile lineup set to hit stores in 2022.

Trail Snowmobiles
In 2022, our team at Arctic Cat is releasing three different models of train snowmobiles: ZR Thundercat, ZR RR, and the ZR Limited.
1. ZR Thundercat
Our ZR 9000 Thundercat is a performance snowmobile. It is the fastest sled currently on the market, and we’ve made several notable updates to this model.
The 2022 Thundercat is turbocharged with variable assist electronic power steering (EPS) that provides higher assistance at lower speeds to make it easier on the rider and decreases assistance at a higher rate to better feel and react to the terrain. It is more agile, more comfortable, and is an ideal ride for the avid snowmobiler.
The 9000-series C-TEC4 turbocharged three-cylinder 998cc engine delivers 200hp-class performance at 8750 RPM. It is one of the most powerful engines on the market and is the power behind the Thundercat.
Cut through straightaways at incredible speed and control the curves with ease. The Thundercat is your guy.
2. ZR RR
Thundercat meets racing. The RR is a no-compromise race replica aimed at the big bumps, with race-winning features including competition-calibrated components like the new front suspension technology and shocks. Available engines: C-TEC2 8000 & C-TEEC2 6000
3. ZR Limited
Prepare to dominate any terrain with the ZR Limited. Available engines: C-TEC2 8000 & C-TEEC2 6000
Mountain Snowmobiles
Our new Mountain Snowmobiles were designed with the extraordinary snowmobile in mind. Deeper powder, steeper climbs, and exhilarating carving: It is a different breed of sledder who is ready and willing to tackle the mountain
Each of our Mountain Snowmobiles is built on the Ascender Platform to carve through deep stuff and side-hill with precision.
They also feature ALPHA ONE™ Single-Beam Rear Suspension. This suspense is sure to make every move you make and every gnarly curve you take feel like an extension of yourself.
M Hardcore Alpha One
The M Hardcore Alpha One easily conquers the backcountry. With the combined technology of the revolutionary ALPHA ONE™ Single-Beam Rear Suspension and easily adjustable coil-over FOX® ZERO shocks, this snowmobile will be your smoothest ride yet. Available engines: C-TEC2 8000. Run, don’t walk!
M Mountain Cat Alpha One
M Mountain Cat Alpha One offers more bold styling and a few extras regarding technology. IIn addition to the ALPHA ONE™ Single-Beam Rear Suspension, the M Mountain Cat Alpha One offers fully-adjustable FOX® FLOAT 3 QS3 shocks AND ATAC adjustable-on-the-fly suspension. Available engines: C-TEC2 8000.
It is impossible to imagine tackling the backcountry terrain riding anything but Arctic Cat.
Crossover Snowmobiles
Our newer Crossover Snowmobiles are going to be your new best friends. Moving between groomed trails, snowy conditions, off-trail, and back has never been easier.
Riot
Our 2022 Riot Crossover has the standard features like ARS II front suspension, Cross-Action rear suspension, but with a new twist: ATAC Adjustable-On-The-Fly suspension. Available engines: C-TEC2 8000 & C-TEEC2 6000
Riot X
The 2022 Riot X Crossover is comparably larger than the Riot. Still, it offers the same ALPHA ONE Single-Beam Rear Suspension technology and the newly added ATAC Adjustable-On-The-Fly suspension.
Mid-Sized Snowmobiles
In 2021, we introduced our first proper, mid-sized snowmobile lineup and included BLAST M 4000, trail BLAST ZR 4000, and sport-utility BLAST LT 4000. This year, we expand our Mid-Sized Snowmobile category by adding BLAST XR 4000 and BLAST XR Touring 4000.
Blast XR
The Blast XR model brings crossover capabilities to a mid-size snowmobile and comes equipped with a slide-rail, dual shock rear suspension, and a non-articulating twin rail frame. Our updated design makes it easier for all types of riders to face the most challenging terrain—available engines: 4000 Series.
Blast XR Touring
Meet the industry’s first midsize touring sled, the Blast XR Touring 4000. The XR touring is equipped with overload springs that help support an additional passenger with standard 2-up seating. Available engines: 4000 Series.
Our new Mid-Sized Snowmobiles combine a lighter, mid-sized frame with a best-in-class power-to-weight ratio with an industry-first 400 single-cylinder EFI 2-stroke engine. Both sleds are perfect entry-level options for customers looking for a value-priced sled or experienced riders wanting an easy-to-ride snowmobile that is a blast to ride.
Utility Snowmobile
Norseman
You know the saying, “Don’t fix something that isn’t broken?”
That is precisely how our team feels about the Arctic Cat Norseman X 8000 Utility snowmobile. Our utility snowmobile is essentially unchanged for the 2022 model year. Powered by the C-TEC2 2-stroke, 794cc 8000-Series engine, the Norseman is dependable and tackles any terrain. It also now has the new Arctic Cat ADAPT CVT system.
Youth
Last but not least, our Youth snowmobiles. Our 2022 Youth snowmobile lineup is showing up like our Utility Snowmobiles -- Relatively unchanged. We offer two models for younger riders: ZR 120 and ZR 200.
ZR 120
The ZR 120 is designed for the smallest riders and is powered by a 123cc single-cylinder engine that is speed governed to 8 mph. The ZR 200 is perfect for small riders and their parents.
ZR 200
The ZR 200 is compact and made for larger kids (13 and older). It comes with a 192cc single-cylinder engine that has just enough oomph to make young riders fall in love with the sport while feeling safe and in control.
